With the 12th pick of the 2004 NBA Draft, the Seattle Supersonics select:

Luke Jackson, from the University of Oregon.....

Oh baby!

That would be cool if it happened. It won't happen, but it would be cool if it did. That would give the Sonics four players -- Brent Barry, Luke Ridnour, Vladimir Radmanovic, and Luke Jackson -- who have the ability to embarrass Larry Bird on defense.

Rim shot.

Truthfully, as long as we don't pull another Maggette-for-Horace-Grant deal, I'll be happy.

--RANDOM--

--Lance Berkman really looks like Erika Christensen ("Traffic"). Trust me.

--On a similar note, I'd be willing to bet that Emeka Okafor and Taye Diggs are related somehow.

--As Gwen Knapp notes in today's SF Chronicle, Barry Bonds is 19 walks shy of Rickey Henderson's career walks record of 2190. Think about that. He came into the season 120 walks shy, and now he's only 19 shy. Do the math: He has 101 walks this season, with a few games left before the All-Star break.
That's un-freaking-real.

--I'm this close to dropping Bret Boone from my fantasy team, and almost as close to punching a hole in my wall because I just thought of Bret Boone and what a useless piece of garbage he's been this season.
I don't understand how it's possible for him to be batting .221 right now. Every morning when I check the box scores in the paper, Boone's line is 0 for 4, maybe 0 for 3 with a sacrifice. I just hate that guy so much right now.

--My favorite line from Zoolander: "You think you're too cool for school. But newsflash, Walter Cronkite -- you're not."

--One of the guys at the desk asked me this morning if I went downstairs yesterday to see Bill Clinton. I told him I didn't and that it wasn't really a big deal to me, and that maybe if it were someone like Jessica Alba I probably would've gone downstairs. He laughed, but the thing is, I was being serious.
Yeah, I know what you're all thinking: Why male models?
