Phil Sheridan of the Philadelphia Inquirer writes that members of the Baseball Writers Association of America should no longer be the ones choosing MVP's and selecting Hall of Famers.
"Yes, the BBWAA members may see more baseball than anyone else, but they should not be responsible for the legitimacy of the awards or the Hall. That's not our job. We're supposed to cover news, not create it."
