FROM THE AP NEWSWIRE:

SEATTLE -- Seattle SuperSonics center Vitaly Potapenko has been charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence after being arrested outside a Miami-area nightclub, club officials have confirmed.

Potapenko, who lives in Florida in the offseason, was denied entry to Miami Beach's Club Crobar at 2 a.m. Sunday because he was unsteady on his feet, swaying back and forth, slurring his words and reeking of alcohol.

Warned that he would be arrested unless he calmed down and left quietly, Potapenko responded, "Will you?" and used a racial insult, saying "Go arrest some (slur) drug dealers," an officer wrote.

The officer wrote that when Potapenko was arrested, he said, "I'm not going anywhere" and refused to give a Social Security number.

Potapenko did not resist being placed into handcuffs after he was arrested but tried to walk away while officers waited for a transport vehicle, the arresting officer wrote.
